Commissioned Projects
A Memorial Built Around Their Story
Commissioned by the Hiram E. Mann Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Craig created the artwork for the Walterboro Army Airfield memorial and designed the marble monument on which it appears. The project was developed to honor the Tuskegee Airmen who trained at Walterboro, with support from Tuskegee Airman Dr. Eugene J. Richardson, who had trained there as a young fighter pilot.
Preserving a Family's WWII Legacy
Created for the family of a B-17 crew member, Stormy Weather transformed a deeply personal piece of family history into artwork that could be passed to future generations. Craig's research and illustration helped reconnect the family with the story of their loved one's wartime service—making the finished artwork far more than a traditional aviation print.
Recreating a Father's Aircraft
The Faber family wanted to preserve the story of 1st Lt. Robert J. Faber and his service flying the F-86D Sabre Dog. With no known photographs of his actual aircraft, Craig reconstructed its appearance using a model Faber had commissioned along with surviving squadron photographs. The completed artwork was unveiled with the family at Aces In Action.

One of many art pieces created in partnership with the Military Aviation Museum, The CO's Query brings the extraordinary story of Spitfire Mk IXe MJ730 to life. Craig depicted the combat veteran in flight and paired the artwork with material from the aircraft's damaged original wooden propeller—connecting the finished piece directly to the historic aircraft that inspired it.
A Commission For a POW Family
Pathfinder to Ploesti honors the crew of B-24H Liberator 42-51136 and the 464th Bombardment Group during the dangerous 1944 campaign against the Ploesti oil refineries. Craig reconstructed the aircraft's final mission for this commission—including its Pathfinder role, fighter escort, catastrophic loss over the target, and the fate of the surviving crew—to preserve their story through art.
Commissioned by the New England Air Museum
Commissioned by the New England Air Museum, Thunderhead of Precision commemorates the B-29 crews of the 58th Bombardment Wing and their final combat mission of World War II. The project became even more tangible through aluminum recovered during the museum's restoration of B-29 44-61975, connecting Craig's artwork with an authentic piece of Superfortress history.

Stories Preserved Through Art
We first met Craig and his wife at Warbirds Over the beach in VA. Then several more times in North Carolina. Each time adding an additional piece of his art to our collection. It was through those encounters and conversations that I knew his talent for capturing historical aircraft in action and his ability to tell a story with his artwork would immortalize a piece of history for our family.
The Dottie G's escape to Switzerland tells the story of my Great Uncle Zane Winkler and the other crew members last flight aboard 42-37755. Through research of our own, first-hand accounts of other crew members, and Craig's vast network of information he was able to recreate that day. Craig's representation of that day is not one of a dying warbird, but that of the tenacity of the men aboard who fought for their country under insurmountable odds to provide the freedom we hold so dear today.
This is a treasure for our family that we hope to share for generations.

When I contacted Craig about a print to honor my grandfather's service I never could have expected the final product. Craig conducted extensive research to make sure that every aspect was correct including mission details, aircraft markings, finding the correct adversary unit that intercepted the mission, and even personal account of the mission from my grandfather. He used all of this to bring the mission to life in an amazing artwork.
Then to top it all off Craig informed me of a lead he had of a B-17 wreck in the alps that belonged to the 20th Bombardment Squadron, the same squadron my grandfather flew with. He sent me a link to someone that took video of the wreckage, I reached out, and the individual hiked up to excavate some pieces of the aircraft. It actually turned out the B-17 not only flew missions along side my grandfather's plane but he flew one mission on the aircraft before it went down in the alps.
Thanks to Craig I now have an amazing print with a piece of a B-17 my grandfather served on to remember his service forever. Craig was very engaging the entire process, was extremely knowledgeable, and took the time to make sure every detail was right. My entire family loves the final product and my grandmother stated if my grandfather was still alive he would have loved it.
