Whether you want to honor a family member, celebrate a veteran's service, or capture an iconic moment in aviation history, our custom illustrations offer a meaningful and lasting tribute. With years of experience creating commissioned artwork for families, veterans, and renowned museums, Mr. Tinder's work blends historical accuracy with his artistic style, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces unlike any other.
Each commission is meticulously researched and illustrated to reflect the technical details of the aircraft, armor, or vessel, combined with a captivating visual style. These works of art are more than just illustrations—they are heirlooms created with premium archival materials to be cherished for generations. As each piece is deeply personal and rooted in history, it also holds collectibility value, with the potential to appreciate over time.
With the dedicated time required to research, illustrate, and assemble each commission project, Mr. Tinder is able to create only a limited number of custom art pieces each year. By purchasing a custom art piece today, you secure your place in the queue.
Our Seamless Commission Process:
Step 1: Share Your Story - Start by sharing the key details that bring the story to life. Whether it’s an aircraft, tank, ship, or a personal military story, he’ll work with any photos, documents, or historical background you can provide. And don’t worry—if there are gaps in the information, he has extensive experience in researching and filling in many of those blanks to ensure the final piece is as accurate and personal as possible.
Step 2: Design Fee - To begin your custom artwork, there is a one-time design fee of $750 USD, which covers the extensive research and illustration work. This fee ensures that the print contains exceptional detail, from historical accuracy to artistic composition, and is well crafted. Please note this design fee is separate from the purchase of your final artwork, which can be selected from a variety of print choices. Rush orders will incur an additional fee and digital files are not available.
Step 3: Choose Your Print - Once your illustration is completed, it will be posted online at AcesInAction.com for you to order prints. Whether you prefer a framed canvas with authentic relics, an unframed canvas, or a classic paper print, each option is produced with the utmost care. The prices for these prints vary based on your selection, and while discounts may not apply to custom artwork (Design Fee or Final Print), you’re guaranteed a masterpiece worth every penny.
Completion Timeframe - The queue of commissioned work usually fills up with museum requests, gift shop requests, and collector requests. Creating a custom illustration is a process that takes time, so get your spot in the queue today. Once the purchase for the Design Fee is initiated, you're place in the queue is secured. Contact us directly with any questions and to determine the specific timeframe you can expect your commission to be completed. Mr. Tinder works diligently to ensure each piece meets your expectations, and we appreciate your patience throughout the process.
With dozens of commissions completed for private collectors, families, and prestigious museums and restoration institutions, Craig Tinder’s art goes beyond the ordinary. Spaces are limited, especially around holidays, so we encourage early booking to ensure we can accommodate your timeline and hold your place in the queue.

Dear Craig, I have received a copy of your magnificent print of a F4U in U.S.S. Bunker Hill (CV-17) colors. It is truly marvelous and will soon find a place in my WAR ROOM in my home!! Best wishes to you and yours ~ Semper Fi.

I just wanted to thank you again for the INCREDIBLE work you did.
Many, many tears were shed Christmas morning when my dad and uncles opened the canvas prints and the plaques. They were absolutely blown away and said it was the best gift they have ever received.
I can’t thank you enough for giving my family a piece of our history and giving us a piece of my Pops back. I truly have no words, but rather a heart full of gratitude.
Thank you so much again!
— Maria D. Palm Beach, FL

I bought a print of this beautiful piece of art at the @daytonairshow from artist Craig Tinder with @aces_in_action. Not only is his talent endless but we had a great time talking with Craig and his wife after the show. I challenge you to find nicer people in the industry! In the mean time, check out their store and grab something that speaks to you. I promise you won't regret it!!!
— Ryan D. Dayton, OH
I collect a fair amount of military artwork rendered in all types of mediums, and so I also end up seeing a wide range of quality as well. Much of what is out there is rather mediocre. But every once in a while, as in your case, a true gem of an artist comes along. In my personal experience, both as a collector of military-themed artwork, and as a long-time student of much of the technology of warfare, your aircraft prints are among the very best I have had the good fortune to acquire. Above all, they are simply fascinating and enjoyable to just look at.
— John O. Las Vegas, NV
First,, you are a wonderful artist...
— Tim B. New York, NY
I purchased fifteen prints and it took a long time to find the right frames for them,,,,but now all 15 are hanging my house. They have always been something I have shown to friends..The detail is just incredible..
All of my prints are signed and I thank you for that...I love them all,,the 109,,190..F-4U., and the P-51
They are all beautiful....THANK YOU!!!!!
I have just received the print of the A6M Zero and I just had to write to tell you how impressed I am with it. I have, of course, left good feedback for you but the space for writing a feedback comment isn't big enough to say everything I want to say. I really was stunned by the quality of both the artwork and the printing. I feel as if I can run my fingers over the undulations on the aircraft's panels - the whole thing is so three-dimensional. The print quality is second to none and even the paper seems to glow! There aren't many times in life when you buy something for a very modest amount of money and then find yourself speechless with admiration when it arrives but this is one of those times. Although I am mainly a Zero enthusiast I strongly suspect I am soon to become very interested in your other subjects purely because of the quality.
— Terry S. St. Helens, U.K.
I purchased several amazing prints from you at Warbirds Over the Beach this past weekend, and I wanted to make good on my promise to send you a picture of them once I got them displayed in my home! I'm very, very happy with them and honestly can't stop looking at them! I posted this and several other pictures to my Facebook page and gave your studio a tag, and several of my friends have already remarked on how much they like them as well! Thank you again for the opportunity to own and appreciate such unique works of art!
