    Details About the RELIC:

This relic fragment was removed from B-17G-95-DL Flying Fortress, 44-83872, during a port wing spar restoration in 2001. Originally manufactured at the Douglas Aircraft Corporation in Long Beach, CA, it was delivered on July 12, 1945. The aircraft served with the U.S. Navy as a PB-1W until 1955. It became privately owned and appeared at General Curtis LeMay's retirement ceremony in 1965. After many years of restoration, the aircraft donned the livery of the 381st Bombardment Group and would be known as "Texas Raiders."

Fine Art Paper Print (Options C & D) - Relic Not Included:

Each Fine Art Print is printed on archival presentation-quality, 260 GSM / 10 Mil, photographic paper created using the highest quality inks and archival techniques. Photographs do not do this paper substrate justice as it practically "glows" on the wall.
Note: Relic is not included with Fine Art Paper Prints.

    The Story Behind the Print:

25 March 1945, "Princess Pat," a B-17G Flying Fortress of the 381st Bombardment Group, 533rd Bombardment Squadron (VP-X), embarked on a crucial evening test flight. Piloted by Captain Charles H. "Hotrock" Carpenter, the crew aimed to verify repairs from the previous day's intense combat. That last mission: the main crossroads of the Luftwaffe night fighter landing base in Twente, Holland. This strategic strike provided crucial support for the airborne deployment across the Rhine River, marking the final surge of the war in Europe. However, tragedy struck upon landing that evening as the Fortress caught fire and became engulfed in flames. All crew members survived.

"I just wanted to thank you again for the INCREDIBLE work you did.

Many, many tears were shed Christmas morning when my dad and uncles opened the canvas prints and the plaques. They were absolutely blown away and said it was the best gift they have ever received.

I can’t thank you enough for giving my family a piece of our history and giving us a piece of my Pops back. I truly have no words, but rather a heart full of gratitude.

    Thank you so much again!"

"I collect a fair amount of military artwork rendered in all types of mediums, and so I also end up seeing a wide range of quality as well. Much of what is out there is rather mediocre. But every once in a while, as in your case, a true gem of an artist comes along. In my personal experience, both as a collector of military-themed artwork, and as a long-time student of much of the technology of warfare, your aircraft prints are among the very best I have had the good fortune to acquire. Above all, they are simply fascinating and enjoyable to just look at."

"The custom plaques arrived yesterday, not only was the process much faster then I thought it would be, but the plaques look absolutely great! I really love them and I'm sure the rest of my siblings will love them too. Thanks for doing such great work, the plaques will be cherished and appreciated for many years to come.On a slightly different note, I ordered a print of my dad's plane, it should arrive tomorrow, I look forward to seeing it too and am sure it will be every bit as fantastic as the plaques are,

I plan to check out more of your work, maybe there will be other prints I will want as well.

Thanks again for all you have done and continue to do.

I have just received the print of the A6M Zero and I just had to write to tell you how impressed I am with it. I have, of course, left good feedback for you but the space for writing a feedback comment isn't big enough to say everything I want to say. I really was stunned by the quality of both the artwork and the printing. I feel as if I can run my fingers over the undulations on the aircraft's panels - the whole thing is so three-dimensional. The print quality is second to none and even the paper seems to glow! There aren't many times in life when you buy something for a very modest amount of money and then find yourself speechless with admiration when it arrives but this is one of those times. Although I am mainly a Zero enthusiast I strongly suspect I am soon to become very interested in your other subjects purely because of the quality.

"I purchased several amazing prints from you at Warbirds Over the Beach this past weekend, and I wanted to make good on my promise to send you a picture of them once I got them displayed in my home!  I'm very, very happy with them and honestly can't stop looking at them!  I posted this and several other pictures to my Facebook page and gave your studio a tag, and several of my friends have already remarked on how much they like them as well! Thank you again for the opportunity to own and appreciate such unique works of art!"

"I recently purchased an original painting from Mr. Tinder to go in my living room, and, I have to say, the gradations and variations he plays with in his abstract art couldn't match my home better! The opposing colors--tones of red on the one side, tones of green on the other--and their gradual shifts in color that meet in the middle on the middle of the canvas suggest a certain harmony and, paradoxically, diversity. It's a great piece, and I'm proud to have it hanging in my home!"

"As a lifelong WWII aviation enthusiast, I can tell you Craig Tinder's work is outstanding! I am very familiar with the aircraft, paint schemes, & aces of the time. Craig's attention to detail & accuracy is fantastic. The prints are beautiful with rich colors & subtle detail that almost jumps out at you from the paper. These prints will make a great addition to any home or office collection, as well as a great gift! I highly recommend them."
