"Little Willie' Coming Home"
By Artist, Keith Ferris
Edition #: RARE Artist Evaluation Copy
Note - This is an Artist Evaluation Copy - one of the very first test prints coming off the press. These prints were created to run spot color, printing registration and sizing tests. These were reviewed by the artist and publisher in order to refine the print settings for the actual print runs of Limited Edition Lithography art prints. Oftentimes, these first prints get marked up and destroyed, never to reach the collectors' market. However, we have one of the rare Artist Evaluation copies - and its in better condition than most. It does have some slight staining and markings, making it a true one-of-a-kind!
Size: 41.5" x 24" (105.4 x 61 cm)

Returning from a mission over Berlin, the B-17 “Little Willie” limped all the way home after being severly damaged by German fire. The mission that it had embarked on was no easy one - the 8th Air Force lost more aircraft here than during any other mission of WWII. Set in 1944, the B-17 can be seen struggling to get all engines to work as it flies low to the Channel on its way back to its base, fortunately making it back in one piece. This artist evaluation copy of the print by Artist Keith Ferris makes an exquisite addition to any WWII or B-17 collection.
