The 91st, 303rd, 305th \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eand\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e 306th Bomb Groups participated in the mission without fighter escort. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDanellen\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e was lost during the operation, coming down in Normandy.
