A centerpiece collectible - this gallery framed lithograph depicts Charles Lindbergh and Maj. T. McGuiree during their time training the 475th FG to work out technical logistics to optimize fuel for the P-38 Lightning. An interesting write up can be found here:
Lindbergh eventually flew the aircraft in combat and was unofficially credited with many sorties against the Japanese. The autograph framed is authenticated as that of Charles Lindbergh with the data plate being from the first P-38H-1 (Model 222) off the assembly line #42-13559. This P-38 type included the new, supercharged 1425hp Allison V-1710-89/91, thus making it faster than the previous G model.
The 475th FG would acquire their first six P-38Hs by the end of June 1943 when Lindbergh flew with the group (27 June - 13 August 1943). By the end of July 1943, "Satan's Angels" would acquire an additional 69 P-38H Models.
